Today The Wrestling World has hit emotional meltdown stage over the announced retirement of multi time WWE Champion and Leader of the Yes Movement, Daniel Bryan. Bryan, husband of 1/2 of the Bella Twins, Brie Bella, was struck with multiple injuries during his WWE career, and the recent one left many wondering as to whether he would return to the WWE ring at all, and as of today, that appears not to be the case, as Bryan took to his twitter to announce his retirement, effective immediately. In Honor of his outstanding career, and gracious uprising against the corporates during his time, lets look back at a particular moment in Bryan’s career, back in 2014 when himself and Brie were surrounded by major fan support, built by their thrive to see Bryan succeed before and following his WrestleMania 30 victory.

Bryan, injured during his 3rd WWE Title Run, having won the title at WrestleMania 30 by overcoming Triple H to qualify for the shows main event, overcoming also Batista and Randy Orton to capture the title, appeared with title in hand later on in the run despite the said injury, and WWEs hopes for Bryan to relinquish the title for his own sake transcended into an angle that began to fuel the major divas angle of that year, Brie Bella vs Stephanie McMahon. Bryan was a target to the Authority and Kane for months, and at Payback, Stephanie McMahon, Wife of Triple H, called out Bryan in hopes to take away his championship or instead remove Brie from the roster as punishment. Brie, seeing how much the title had meant to him, instead turned over to Stephanie and declared that she wouldn’t be portrayed as a powerless victim anymore, stuck in between the Bryan v Authority dilemma, and “quit” the WWE to prevent her actual firing, and in turn, preventing Stephanie from taking Bryan’s title. Stephanie appeared amused over Bries heartfelt decision, and Brie struck back by slapping the boss and leaving her humiliated. However, Bryan’s injuries eventually lead to surrender, and Bryan would later abdicate his title. This also wouldn’t be the first time the excellent performer that is Bryan would have to abdicate a championship title due to injury, a factor that has so played into his heartbreaking retirement.
