Your Monday Post #106: Lita vs Chyna for the WWF Womens Championship at Judgment Day 2001 (May, 20th 2001)

Welcome All to a New but Somewhat Late Edition of Your Monday Post, focusing on looking back on past bouts in Women’s Wrestling. Unfortunately in the past week, the wrestling world was shook by the loss of a legend in the wrestling industry, and said goodbye to a fantastic wrestler and pioneer in Chyna. The Former Women’s Champion passed away at the Age of 45 this past week for reasons still yet to be revealed, and to honor her legacy and her career that hadn’t been reflected much by WWE as of the past few years due to her storied past, this weeks Your Monday Post looks back at a Match between defending women’s champion Chyna and Current Hall of Famer Lita.

The Match would be recognized as Chyna’s Last Match in the Company, and the last match before the Women’s Championship was vacated upon Chyna’s departure from the company, but not her overall departure from wrestling as she would go on to work a match for TNA many years later. Chyna had won the Championship from Ivory at the Seventeenth WrestleMania, not defending on PPV until months later at Judgement Day against a fellow talented wrestler turned Hall of Famer Lita. As Much as Lita tried to fend off the Powerhouse, she would ultimately fall as Chyna went on to retain the Championship with On Screen Partner, the late Eddie Guerrero looking on. Regardless, Chyna showed her respect to the fellow Women’s Wrestler following the closure of the match in a great show of sportsmanship.
