Your Monday Post #130: Victoria vs Lita in The First Ever Women’s Steel Cage Match (November, 24th 2003)
Welcome All to a Rather Late Edition of Your Monday Post, but more so in coordination with the announcement that in only a few weeks time, Charlotte and Sasha Banks will compete in the first ever Women’s Hell in a Cell Match in WWE History. While these particular athletes will share that history, Current Hall of Famer Lita and Former Women’s Champion Victoria share the honor of competing in the first ever women’s steel cage match back in 2003.
The Match came after Lita, who had competed just a few weeks before unsuccessfully for Molly Holly’s Women’s Championship, would become a victim of the unpredictability of the RAW Roulette, which would select for the arriving competitor to compete in a Steel Cage Match against Victoria, to the happiness of the title holder Molly and RAWs General Manager Eric Bischoff. The Rather Short affair saw Victoria obtain victory, escaping the cage after Matt Hardy showed up to cost Lita the match.
