Your Monday Post #140: Sasha Banks vs Charlotte vs Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 32 (April, 3rd 2016)

As 2016 narrows to its last few days, this weeks Your Monday Post (late due to events during the Xmas week so again, my apologies for the lateness) highlights one of the key moments of the main rosters women’s division in 2016, in which the then Divas Champion Charlotte battled two women who evolved alongside her in NXTs olden days, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, with all three making their WrestleMania debuts that night, as the 32nd Wrestlemania headlined by the awaited clash between Roman Reigns and WWEs World Heavyweight Champion Triple H, took place from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

At this years Royal Rumble, Sasha Banks had returned to the scene to confront Divas Champion Charlotte after a successful title defense against Lynch. After reverting to her heelish ways by throwing Lynch out of the ring, she teased rekindling her bond of friendship with the NXT BFF Charlotte before setting her up in the Bank Statement and laying claim to a future Championship opportunity. While Charlotte went on to a temporary angle with Brie Bella heading into Fast Lane, the former partnership between Banks and Lynch was tested against Banks’s former co workers Naomi and Tamina, who went out of their way to target them. The Duo were successful in overthrowing the former members of Team BAD, then chasing the Divas Championship after both were granted a shot at Charlotte after the Genetically Superior One intervened in both women’s chances to become Number One Contender. A New Development rumored during WrestleMania week then became official, as at the event itself, Hall of Famer Lita announced that the Divas Championship would be abdicated, replaced with an all new emblazoning WWE Women’s Title with no relation to the past one, and it was this very title that the Three Members of the Four Horsewomen would now battle for, with only one becoming the Inaugural WWE Women’s Champion.
