Raquel Departs from TNA (January, 6th 2017)

Raquel, formerly known as WWE Tough Enough Contestant Gabi Castrovinci, revealed via Twitter today that she has departed TNA IMPACT Wrestling. This comes just under a year after her first appearance with the company, with her signing meaning she became the first Brazilian Knockout in TNA History. Raquel is the second talent to depart from the company this year, the first being Mark Andrews per the Revelation he was to compete in WWE’s UK Championship Tournament.

Raquel first surfaced in TNA as a potential valet for then babyface Lashley, pursuing him consistently. The angle was soon dropped and Raquel later returned to Television as a Guru for the BroMans (Jesse Godderz and Robbie E) and eventually aided them on a path to Tag Team Championship contention in a feud that saw her own involvement as Raquel would also end up in altercations with the Valet of the then Tag Team Champions, Rosemary. Raquel’s alignment with the BroMans was also inexplainably dropped, and Raquel would go back to honing her craft as an in ring competitor through various matches on TNA’s side show, TNA Xplosion, against the likes of Jade, Madison Rayne, Marti Bell and Sienna. At the time of this writing, it appears Raquel will be continuing her wrestling career, currently being one half of the SHINE Tag Team Champions alongside Santana Garrett.

I Wish Gabi all the best with her future prospects and endeavors.

– Catherine
