Your Monday Post #154: Lita Reveals the Newly Christened WWE Womens Championship at WrestleMania 32 (April, 3rd 2016)

Welcome All to a New Edition of Your Monday Post, appropriately timed as its the start of WrestleMania week. This Sunday delivers to the WWE Universe the 33rd WrestleMania in NXT Central of Orlando, and it will serve as the first official defense of the RAW Women’s Championship, first introduced at last years WrestleMania without a champion to defend it, but for a Woman to capture.

WWE Hall of Famer Lita, a Multi Time Women’s Champion in her own right, known for her famed clashes with fellow Hall of Famer Trish Stratus as well as for her alliances with the likes of Edge, used the WrestleMania 32 Kickoff Show as a Platform for a historic announcement. A Triple Threat Women’s Match initially over the Divas Championship that featured Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and then Champion Charlotte, would face an overhaul, with the Divas Championship first revealed in 2008 abdicated that night to be replaced with a newly christened women’s championship with no relation to the past title. Thus Charlotte, Becky and Sasha, Three of the Four Horsewomen of NXT, would battle to crown the first ever WWE Women’s Champion on the main show, with Charlotte earning that title by submitting Becky Lynch while fellow challenger Sasha Banks struggled from the outside due to the intervention of the former Divas Champions Hall of Fame Father, Ric Flair.
