New Smackdown Womens Champion Crowned At WrestleMania 33 (April, 2nd 2017)

This Past Sunday, Orlando played host to this years WrestleMania, the 33rd overall, which was also a hometown welcoming for the recently returned Naomi, who announced herself as a competitor in the oncoming Smackdown Womens Championship Match that would see then Womens Champion Alexa Bliss defend against every available member of the Smackdown Womens Roster.

After much outcry from online supporters of the Smackdown Womens Division, the Match was moved to the main card later in the week after being slated for the Kickoff Show, and thus it ended up taking the pre main event spot. The Match was reverted to a six pack challenge with no surprise entrants, and concluded with Naomi winning the match by submitting the defending champion Alexa Bliss, tying her record by becoming a 2x Smackdown Womens Champion.
