Cattie’s Catch Up: Jade vs Madison Rayne vs Gail Kim for the Knockouts Championship (April, 5th 2016)

Welcome all to a rather late but better than never edition of Cattie’s Catch Up, not only lying on the night of Gail Kim’s Announcement on this weeks IMPACT Wrestling (which i will report on soon) but on the night of the Mae Young Classic which features Mia Yim (former IMPACT Knockout Jade) making her 2nd ever WWE Appearance in Full Sail. With those factors in mind, this Throwback Thursday looks not only at the last time Gail Kim defended the Knockouts Championship, but the suggested passing of the torch to the eventual babyface Jade, as the two joined Madison Rayne in Triple Threat action for Kim’s Knockouts title.

Jade’s rise as a singular Knockout came at the cost of her Dollhouse members, who she turned against to be given what was initially Knockouts President Maria Kanellis-Bennett’s Knockouts Championship Title shot. It was eventually capitalized on on this episode in the triple threat match, with Jade even pinning Gail to secure the victory and her first and only Knockouts Title reign. The reign lead to Jade’s rebellion against Maria and eventual babyface turn, feuding with the introduced Knockouts enforcer Sienna, an angle that lead to a surprise dethroning courtesy of fellow Mae Young Classic competitor Marti Belle, as the former Dollhouse Member became the factor in Jade’s reign ending and Sienna bringing the Knockouts Championship to the most powerful alliance at the time in the Knockouts Division.
