Cattie’s Catch Up: Becky Lynch vs Natalya at WWE Battleground 2016 (July, 24th 2016)

This Sunday, the Smackdown roster plays host to the WWE Battleground Pay Per View, featuring two competitors who brought their rivalry to a head in singles action at the same pay per view last year, Becky Lynch and Natalya. While this year they compete for contendership status, last year they competed over something much more personal, the dissembling of their friendship.

Becky Lynch and Natalya, both a part of dual rosters pre brand split, had competed against Dana Brooke and Charlotte in tag team action on the prior pay per view, Money in the Bank. Caused miscue between Natalya and Becky eventually cost them the match against Dana and the then RAW Women’s Champion, and while many thought Becky would explode over this, instead Natalya turned heel after many years of being a representative babyface, pummeling Becky after their unsuccessful attempt to dethrone Dana and Charlotte. This lead to attacks over the weeks, and the brand split that came on the pre Battleground week brought Becky and Natalya to the same brand of Smackdown, allowing them the chance to come to blows before the Pay Per View. Becky, familiar with having past competitors turn their back on her, competed much against Natalya on the night, but the veteran Natalya would eventually take the unexpected win to the Lasskickers dismay.
