Cattie’s Catch Up: Alexa Bliss vs Bayley for the NXT Womens Championship (November, 18th 2015)

In Light of the booking of the RAW Women’s Championship Match for Summerslam, seeing familiar opponents Alexa Bliss and Bayley battle over the RAW Women’s Divisions golden prize, this weeks midweek reflective sees roles reversed, not so in character but in status, with Alexa Bliss as a rising competitor heading into contendership status and Bayley as the much cheered babyface champion of the developmental system.

Back in late 2015, Alexa Bliss, flanked at the time by her comrades Blake and Murphy, had began chasing NXTs female hero Bayley over the NXT Women’s Championship, looking also to establish herself as NXTs next big heel and allowing herself, Blake and Murphy some spotlight after the duo’s tag team title loss at the debut NXT Takeover Brooklyn show. After mocking Bayley over her role model status, attacking her from behind on occasions also, Eventual booking saw Alexa Bliss battle the then champion Bayley over the championship, but without the former NXT Tag Team Champions of Blake and Murphy at her side. Unlike their main roster feuds, this was a brief filler feud however, as Bayley managed to overcome Alexa Bliss, finding a next challenge brought to her after the match closed in Eva Marie, another filler that lead to the kick-start in the hugest clash of Bayleys Developmental career, against Asuka.
