Eva Marie Departs from the WWE (August, 4th 2017)

Today saw former Total Divas Cast Member Eva Marie announce her departure from WWE. Eva, who had disappeared from WWE Television before Summerslam last year due to suspension, had not since resurfaced for the Smackdown Brand as an in ring competitor due to outside commitments, removed from the Total Divas Season Seven Cast recently, ending her tenure as a cast member.

Eva debuted for WWE in 2013, quickly moved to the main roster due to being placed on the debuting Total Divas show alongside the also debuting JoJo. Eva would have an alignment with fellow then Total Divas Cast Members The Bella Twins throughout that year, making her in ring debut at Summerslam Axxess in a losing effort. Eva would make her Pay Per View debut at Survivor Series that year, where the Total Divas outwitted the “True Divas” lead by then Divas Champion AJ Lee in a traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match. The Following year Eva was involved in various short term feuds, also gaining the chance to compete at WrestleMania in a set up Divas Championship Invitational, won by the retaining champion AJ Lee.
From 2015 into 2016 Eva would transition to WWEs highly acclaimed developmental brand of NXT to expand her in ring skills, forming an alliance with Nia Jax during the time and feuding with the likes of Asuka, Carmella and Bayley. Eva would then return to the main roster on the RAW prior to WrestleMania 32, joining her Total Divas Cast Members in fighting off Lana and her newfound allies in Naomi, Tamina, Summer Rae and Emma following a singles match between Emma and Paige. This set up for Eva to align with the Total Divas despite their distrust of the heel, overcoming Lana’s unit of “Team BAD and Blonde” at WrestleMania 32. In July, the return of the WWE Draft saw Eva placed officially on the Smackdown Brand with Carmella, Alexa Bliss, Natalya, Naomi and Becky Lynch. This allowed for Eva to introduce her new gimmick, complete with an egotistical entrance and own vocal introduction, while also avoiding all opponents whichever way possible, avoiding matches with the likes of Naomi and Becky Lynch. However a sudden and unexpected suspension saw that Eva was removed from a six woman tag team match at the upcoming Summerslam Pay Per View, replaced by Nikki Bella, who returned from a lengthy and career threatening injury as the replacement partner for Alexa Bliss and Natalya that evening. As noted before, Eva had not resurfaced on WWE Television since due to outside movie and other company projects, though having expressed at times a possible return to either brand.

I Wish Eva all the best with her future prospects and endeavors. View Eva’s last match with the WWE here (counting out the matches in her main roster re-debut that resulted in avoidance).
