Angelina Love Leaves GFW IMPACT Wrestling (August, 13th 2017)

Alongside the most recent departures from the GFW Knockouts Division, Angelina Love is now added to the list. The 6x Knockouts Champion, who is tied with Current Hall of Famer Gail Kim for the most reigns in the company, announced earlier tonight on Twitter that she had requested her release from the company, which was granted. This comes weeks after on screen partner Davey Richards also departed from the company, with only Davey being used on Television for GFW IMPACT Wrestling following the Slammiversary Pay Per View.

Angelina returned to the company in January as a part of the companies year opening Television Tapings, first facing the also recently departed Madison Rayne as part of a One Night Only Pay Per View. She later transitioned into a managerial role (though wrestling now and again in between) alongside Davey Richards after the amicable Split of the Wolves came about through the two costing Eddie Edwards his shot at his once held IMPACT World Championship. This lead to Eddie’s real life wife Alisha getting involved, with herself and Eddie being brutalized by the darker debuted characters of Angelina and Davey for weeks. Alisha was eventually signed to the company, allowing the feud to continue into Slammiversary, where Alisha and Eddie defeated the duo in Mixed Tag Team Action under Full Metal Mayhem Rules. Since the closure of the match, Angelina hadn’t been used by the company, while Davey briefly competed alone in the Super X Cup Tournament before his eventual release. Angelina’s release sees ODB and Gail Kim as the only remaining Knockout Originals in the company. See Angelina’s Last Match with the company here, noted as dating back to Slammiversary in Mixed Tag Team Full Metal Mayhem Action.

I Wish Angelina all the best in her future prospects and ventures.

– Catherine
