Former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion Chelsea Green Turns Heel During Thursdays Episode of IMPACT Wrestling (March, 24th 2022)
On Thursday Night, IMPACT Wrestling aired their latest episode, playing host to a hectic street fight between Mickie James and the reigning Knockouts Champion Tasha Steelz for the Boricua Badass’s Championship. In what may have been foreseen by some, a major heel turn would also take place on the part of Mickie’s “BFF” Chelsea Green.
Towards the end of the stellar Knockouts showdown, Chelsea, who has had the back of Mickie over the months during her reign as Knockouts Champion and following it, would emerge with thought intent to aid Mickie James, who continuously had the odds against her with Savannah Evans continually interfering on behalf of Tasha. However, Chelsea proceeded to seat herself on a steel chair and watch Mickie take a beatdown from Tasha and Savannah instead, then watching Mickie also take the ending pinfall after Tasha’s hellacious finishing frog splash, unable to regain the Knockouts Championship in the process. Even more transpired post match between Mickie and Chelsea, as a heartbroken Mickie seeked an answer from Chelsea in what turned into a physical affair, with Chelsea’s real life husband, Matt Cardona, the current Digital Media Champion, getting involved. The angle nearly two years after Mickie and Chelsea tried to build an angle off screen on social media during their WWE tenures, though never making it to WWE Television despite the angle build being reportedly filmed prior to nixing, with both later released from the company.
Chelsea took to her twitter with the following reaction to her betrayal towards Mickie James, words reminiscent of Mickie’s past WWE angle with Trish Stratus and the late Ashley Massaro.
In addition to that, following the events of thursdays episode, it has since been announced that Matt and Chelsea are due to team up against Mickie and former NWA World Champion Nick Aldis at the companies Multiverse of Matches event, which takes place next week at Wrestlecon, airing on FITE.
