New WWE Womens Tag Team Champions Crowned During Mondays Episode of WWE RAW (September 12th 2022)

Monday Nights episode of WWE RAW would bring about a pre announced womens match, and for the WWE Womens Tag Team Championships as recently crowned champions Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah, both of which reside on the Smackdown brand, defended against Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky, the match ending in a title change as the former NXT stars defeated Raquel and Aliyah to become the New WWE Womens Tag Team Champions.

Dakota and Iyo Sky, two thirds of the stable officially confirmed to be known as Damage CTRL, have held a grudge against the now former champions after they overthrew them in the finals of the Womens Tag Team Championship tournament to become the new champions, and the first champions since the departure of the prior champions, Naomi and Sasha Banks. After regaining momentum at the expense of Alexa Bliss, Asuka and RAW Womens Champion Bianca Belair at Clash at the Castle, Dakota and Iyo, alongside their leader Bayley, have been on their own championship re-pursuits, as a rematch with Womens Tag Team Championship implications was announced during last weeks RAW for Monday nights episode. As pre mentioned, Dakota and Iyo took down Raquel and Aliyah to become the new champions, and in turn ended their fellow NXT Alumni’s championship reign at 14 days. The reign for Dakota and Iyo marks as boths first championship reigns on the main roster, the two also joining Raquel amongst the list of women to have held both the NXT and Main Roster Womens Tag Team Championships.

Sometime after the stables win, Iyo took to her twitter account in reaction to becoming one half of the new WWE Womens Tag Team Champions, posting the following below

Congratulations go out to Dakota and Iyo on their championship victories. Stay tuned to the site for a full report on everything womens related from Monday Nights episode of WWE RAW.
