Cattie’s Catch Up: Elektra Lopez Joins Legado Del Fantasma on WWE NXT (August 24th 2021)

Welcome everyone to this weeks midweek throwback, and coming off an episode of NXT that clarified the status of Elektra Lopez after mysteriously being left out of the main roster debut of Legado Del Fantasma. The now former First Lady of Legado Del Fantasma has reentered solo territory, but managed to stay with the group for over a year up until main roster debut plans changed.

Legado Del Fantasma, originally made up of Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro (formerly Raul Mendoza) found themselves in various feuds during their NXT tenure, including in faction wars. Some of 2021 found them feuding with fellow stable Hit Row, made up at the time of Top Dolla, Ashante Adonis, Isaiah Swerve Scott and B Fab. B Fabs involvement late on in the feud, attacking Legado to assist her crew in the parking lot, prompted Legado to introduce a female member, revealed as Elektra Lopez, the former Karissa Rivera, during a six man tag team main event on the August 24th episode of NXT. Elektra would emerge just as B Fab would look to assist her teammates again, attacking B Fab with a baton, costing Hit Row the match and expanding Legado Del Fantasma in the process. This eventually lead to B Fab getting in the ring against Elektra in a No DQ Match despite being early in their WWE careers. Hit Row then went up to the main roster in October of that year, culminating their feud with Legado, before releases saw Hit Row cut in November before three out of four members resurfaced on the main roster earlier this year (Swerve not alongside them due to being contracted to AEW). Legado, meanwhile, remained in NXT and feuded with fellow superstars, including most recently Tony D’Angelo who ended up forcing an alignment between them and his own faction, though that came to an end when the feud with Legado culminated in Tony defeating Santos to write him off, though Santos wouldnt head off without sneaking his stablemates off with him. However, changes, as mentioned, to Elektra’s main roster debut, being replaced by Zelina Vega, lead to her returning to NXT as a rejuvenated singles competitor as seen on this weeks episode.
