WWE WRESTLEMANIA 39 NIGHT TWO RESULTS: Team Submission Magician Snap the Competition and the EST Challenges the More Deadlier Empress (April 2nd 2023)

Welcome all to the WrestleMania 39 Night Two report, discussing all things womens wise from the final night of WrestleMania 39 which took place and concluded this past wednesday. The card saw two womens matches for the remaining night, and again one with championship implications. The Newer Asuka challenged Bianca Belair for the RAW Womens Championship and Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler took on their fellow tandems of Shotzi and Natalya, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez and Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville in the Four Way Womens Tag Team Showcase.

The first match womens wise to take place was the womens showcase, following up from the opener between Brock Lesnar and Omos. Ronda, working limited due to her suspected injury, ended up entering in the final moments to boos, stalking Shotzi who had been taken out beforehand by Liv’s ObLIVion before Shayna cleared her from the ring with a knee strike. After prancing around the laid out Shotzi, Ronda simply placed Shotzi in the armbreaker to submit her, getting the win for herself and Shayna. Ronda and Shayna win the match.

Then later, it was onto the championship defense. Bianca Belair, entering WrestleMania for the first time as a champion, having previously gone into her Mania matches as a challenger, defends against the refreshed and more dangerous Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka. In another strong womens championship match, the closing moments saw Bianca use the reverse powerbomb to drop Asuka in the corner, but Asuka shook it off and aimed the green mist, though missing Bianca who had it narrowly scouted. Asuka fought off a K-O-D set up and ended up getting Bianca in her finishing submission, but Bianca channeled power to push through and in turn, countered with K-O-D to give the Empress her latest WrestleMania loss. Bianca wins the match, retaining the WWE RAW Womens Championship.

As per tradition, the inductees into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2023 would get some time on the stage, as Stacy Keibler, Rey Mysterio and the Great Muta were joined by the family of the Late and inducted Tim White and the family of the inducted and also late Andy Kaufman.

Thoughts On:
Womens Tag Team Showcase: It had its good moments but, in my opinion, the mens showcase was stronger and the crowd seemed to care more for that one. Everyone had their spots, and Chelsea, i feel, shone the most personality and performance wise. The finish ruined the match for me to be honest. Theres so many who have to sit out of Mania when injured, but the knowingly hurt Ronda got booked anyway, did nothing minus the armbreaker due to that injury, and she and Shayna won. If theres a chance that Ronda isnt recovered, they should have gone with someone else winning or Shayna teaming with someone else, maybe even Sonya considering both have MMA experience and have worked together before. Yes, Sonya got Carmella’s spot and the team made sense due to their issues with Adam Pearce, but you cant tell me “no one was available” to team with Chelsea if they went with Shayna and Sonya instead. Not to mention the whole finish got dismissed on RAW and they crowned Liv and Raquel as contenders on RAW, despite the fact they could have been cemented as contenders throughout that match. That was either a bizarre Triple H call due to the reaction to the previous nights finish, or Old Vince just forgot what happened the night before and went with the number one contenders match the next night instead. Night 2 had its booking woes, and Ronda and Shayna winning the way they did was one of them.

Asuka vs Bianca: This match was definitely the stronger match, continuing the streak of strong performances when it comes to womens championship matches on that weekend. This could have gone either way but now Bianca has cemented herself as not only able to win a championship but defend a championship on the Grandest Stage. Sure, its not good that Asuka continues to have a losing streak at WrestleMania, and that having her lose a short few months into rejuvenation is questionable, but none of that is on Bianca. The way WWE’s going right now, unless Asuka returns in the next few weeks to bulldoze Bianca and everyone else in her way, becoming even more violent, then i have no idea if WWE have long term thought this latest Asuka loss through. Theres a chance the Bianca and Asuka feud isnt over though.
