Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus Made Official for WWE Night of Champions (May 22nd 2023)
As Certified during Mondays episode of WWE RAW, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus and former WWE RAW Womens Champion Becky Lynch will officially face off in a singles match at WWE’s Night of Champions Pay Per View in Saudi Arabia. The news comes a week after Lynch openly made the challenge to Stratus.
Earlier in the year, Lynch’s long going rivalry with Damage CTRL lead to her calling upon Trish, as well as Trish’s fellow Hall of Famer Lita, to assist, with Lynch going on to win the Womens Tag Team Championships alongside Lita. However, weeks after WrestleMania, Lynch’s ability to defend the championships were in doubt, as Lita was suspiciously sidelined, with Trish stepping up to help Lynch defend in Lita’s place. The latters defense turned out unsuccessful, and following losing the titles, Trish turned on Lynch, and has delivered personal jabs towards her ever since. After weeks of inactivity, Lynch recently returned and blindsided the Hall of Famer, then later openly making a challenge to Stratus for Night of Champions. As per putting pen to paper in the official contract signing this past Monday Night, that match has been since made official.
WWE Night of Champions takes place LIVE this Saturday 27th May at 6pm UK Time on Peacock, the WWE Network and BT Sport Box Office. Other Matches include Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar and Natalya vs Rhea Ripley for the WWE Smackdown Womens Championship.
