WWE NXT: NO MERCY RESULTS: Jordan Honors Brooke in Showdown and the Man and Stratton Go to the Extreme (September 30th 2023)

Welcome all to the WWE NXT No Mercy Premium Live Event report, discussing all things womens related from Saturday nights Black and Gold Brand based event. The women were showcased on two separate occasions on the evening, from Kelani Jordan’s openly made challenge to Blair Davenport going down on the pre show, to the women main eventing an NXT Premium Live Event for the first time in years when Tiffany Stratton re-challenged Becky Lynch for the NXT Womens Championship, the two scrapping in an Extreme Rules Match.

As mentioned, happening firstly on the Kickoff show, recent NXT newcomer and now former protege of Dana Brooke, makes her rather early NXT Premium Live Event debut, taking on Blair Davenport. Kelani even paid tribute to her released former mentor with the flex pose, handspring back elbow and cartwheel during the bout, but in the end a missed moonsault lead to Blair hitting the coup de grace and follow up driver for the three count. Blair wins the match.

Post Match comes more developments, as the victor doesnt get to stand victorious for much longer. GiGi Dolin, who was sidelined recently by the vicious performer, re-emerges and takes Blair down with an axe handle from behind. GiGi carries on as she rams Blair with knees and forearms, so much that officials are soon forced to separate Blair and GiGi from one another.

Early into the main show, we get an appearance from the remainder of the Schism, Joe Gacy and Ava Raine (as Fowler and Reid’s contracts had expired). Joe is in belief that his teachings were for nothing, but Ava insists otherwise as she still follows him. Joe, however, certifies that all hope is gone, that the Schism was not the right family after all for Ava. To her face he declares the Schism is dead, demanding her away to which she does. In the meantime, Joe now has to find his new purpose.

Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson are also hand to support Noam Dar alongside Oro Mensah as he defends the NXT Heritage Cup against Pete Dunne (Butch) who has Tyler Bate in his corner. However, it was another force to put a stop to the babyfaces plight, as Gallus attacked, allowing for Dar to eventually pin Dunne and retain.

Then its far onward for the main event, the women taking the spot as Tiffany Stratton challenges Becky Lynch for the NXT Womens Championship in an Extreme Rules Match. Tegan Nox, who started a program lately with Becky Lynch on RAW, is also in the audience to watch the match closely. The match spills into the crowd early on, the use of weapons early on as well. It eventually returns to the ring, with hammers, shopping carts and even barbie dolls used, eventually trash cans, fire extinguishers and more before the ending moments sees Becky recover from not being able to pin Stratton off the first Manhandle Slam, this time performing the Manhandle Slam onto a plethora of chairs to pin Stratton and retain. Becky Lynch wins the match, retaining the NXT Womens Championship.

Thoughts On:
Jordan vs Davenport: A good match in front of what sounded like an already amped up crowd. Kelani showed some fire and the tributes to Dana Brooke were also a nice and wholesome touch. The finish seemed to backfire a little bit in terms of the moonsault counter but in the end, it was a given for Davenport to win, especially as Kelani is still new to NXT. I wouldnt be surprised if she and GiGi are paired up.

Stratton vs Lynch: A fantastic match, deserving of its main event slot. Unlike the main roster over the years, NXT used its Extreme Rules stipulation to actual and full effect with the use of weaponry, and both performed fantastically. I wouldnt have minded Stratton winning here, but it looks like Lynch is sticking around to defend the title against some more notable names. I think we are definitely going to see Becky vs Kiana and Becky vs Blair at some point, as well as Becky vs Lyra. Now Ava may be heading on a solo path, i wonder if they might fast track her into the main event, even if she isnt as strong in ring as some of her other fellow women.
