IMPACT WRESTLING RESULTS: Former Foes Strike a Deal Following the Emergence of a Title Match (at Emergence) (August, 4th 2020)

Welcome everyone to an IMPACT Wrestling television report that followed up two big tidbits of news from the company. Not only, as of this week, is Kimber Lee an official Knockout, signed to the company, but a two night special is on the way, as the titled Impact Wrestling Emergence event kickstarts in a matter of weeks, with night two playing host to a Slammiversary rematch as the former champion Jordynne Grace gets her rematch against the current champ, Deonna Purrazzo.

And it looks like the newly signed Knockout, Kimber Lee, has heard that news. In the first Knockouts moment of the night, she steps into the Knockouts locker room, to the chagrin of a disappointed Deonna. Deonna questions Kimber on her ability to be courteous and Kimber straight up apologizes, but insists the champion has her all wrong, for this is a courteous visit. She remembers having the front row seat last week to the manhandling Jordynne Grace put her through upon her return to television last week. Deonna asks what her fellow Knockouts point is, and Kimber clarifies, informing Deonna that if the same happens at Emergence, shes unsure if Deonna will have her pretty little title anymore. She does have an idea though. Deonna is the Virtuosa, and she is the Crown Jewel, and as the champion likes to paint masterpieces, she likes to make magic. She suggests they make magic together, as she brings up that if she takes out Jordynne for her, Deonna allows her to have a shot at the championship. Deonna rises from her seat, moves closer to Kimber and is quick to answer to her, declaring that its a done deal between the two.

Wrestlehouse is back in full swing this week as Taya gathers the whole house for a meeting on hygiene. However, Alisha is caught up in her own conversation with Susie, giving her advice on how to seduce a man, overheard by Johnny Swinger. When Swinger makes some derogatory comments towards them, a match is made, Alisha and Susie versus Johnny in a handicap match. Alisha and Susie work together throughout the match and end up putting Swinger away following a double splash. Alisha and Susie win the match.

After the match, Kylie Rae catches John E Bravo and tries to introduce herself to Taya and Rosemarys male associate. John doesnt want her greeting, instead wondering what Kylie wants, to which she brings up whats going on between him and Rosemary. She wants to get back to the Impact Zone, but has been told no one can leave by Rosemary until John takes the hint regarding them. John cuts her off and insists he knows not only why Rosemary is mad, but he knows what she wants too. He tells Kylie it might take a while but he can take a hint.

Later its to the Impact Zone that Kylie cannot yet be in, and Eddie Edwards latest open challenge ends up answered by a former foe, the now babyface Sami Callihan. However, he ends up wounded pre match, attacked by Rob Van Dam, getting revenge over Sami’s editing of Katie Forbes revealed photos last week. Rob beats down Sami while Katie celebrates and twerks, even joining in as she also gives some stomps to Sami, before preventing officials for coming in between the chaotic scene. Regardless, Sami fights through pain and decides he will battle for Eddie’s title anyway, only to ultimately lose.

Later its back to Wrestlehouse, and it seems Johns version of taking the hint is to leave and not pursue Rosemary. Kylie watches him leave, absolutely gutted, but its not long before Rosemary and Taya are trying to find him, confronting Kylie. They ask if she has seen John and Kylie is honest in admitting John has departed. Rosemary ponders if Kylie had something to do with him leaving, with Taya also demanding to know what had been said. When Kylie eventually gives an answer, Rosemary is livid and literally yells for Tommy Dreamer who pops into the scene and declares it is match time, as Kylie will face Rosemary, and Taya is the special guest referee.

Kylie ends up superkicking Rosemary, who is flattered by John returning and declaring his support for her at ringside, distracted enough that she ends up not hitting her potential finishing offense and stepping into that superkick instead. Taya, who previously fast counted, hoping it would aid Rosemary to victory, does a slow count for the final pin, but Rosemary never kicks out and Kylie ends up taking the win. Kylie wins the match and John hits the ring, continuing his support towards Rosemary before being yanked away by a displeased Taya.

And lastly, there will be actual Knockouts action in the Impact Zone next week as Nevaeh and Havok will face Kiera and Tasha Steelz in a No DQ Tag Team Match next week in what may be the culmination of a quite long rivalry.

Thoughts On:
Alisha and Susie vs Swinger: This was a quick match with the obvious story being that Johnny put down the women and got out performed and put away for it. It seems that they might be building to something with Susie and Jake Something, but if they take a more serious approach or if they dont want two love angles in the same show, then things could really turn dramatic if Susie gets lonely when Kylie eventually escapes Wrestlehouse and starts losing herself to the point where Su surfaces and causes chaos for everyone.

Kylie vs Rosemary: I liked the storytelling here. It seemed to me like Kylie was pushing for John to get with Rosemary, but he thought that instead that taking Rosemarys hint would be to leave, though ultimately love wins as he came back to support her, though that cost Rosemary the match. Kylie picked up momentum heading into a match with Deonna as a result, but wont be escaping wrestlehouse yet as Deonna has her angle ongoing with Jordynne, so im expecting some more stuff with her, John, Taya and Rosemary as well as some stuff between her and Susie before she leaves wrestlehouse. Rosemary and John is obviously the soap opera romantic angle for wrestlehouse and it’ll be interesting to see what it means for Taya as they have been a heavily entertaining team, as much as Rosemarys possible transition into being more humanly is a massive transformation from the character she was years ago.
