Raquel Rodriguez vs Rhea Ripley for the WWE Womens World Championship Announced for WWE Payback (August 22nd 2023)
As made official during Mondays episode of WWE RAW, Rhea Ripley’s next defense of the WWE Womens World Championship is set, as “the Eradicator” defends against past and current nemesis, Raquel Rodriguez.
A renewed clash between Rodriguez and Ripley, who previously feuded during their days on the NXT brand, was teased weeks back on RAW, but a cruel attack from Ripley herself saw her fellow dominant performer sidelined for a time, Rodriguez’s tag team partner Liv Morgan also shelved as a result of Ripley’s evident brutality. However, the former NXT Womens Champion recently hit back at Ripley on this weeks RAW, and announced in turn that she is officially cleared to compete, thus challenging the one female member of the Judgment Day to a championship match at Payback.
WWE Payback takes place LIVE on Saturday 2nd Sep/Sun Sep 3rd at 1am UK Time on Peacock, the WWE Network and TNT Sports. Other Matches include Shinsuke Nakamura vs Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and Trish Stratus vs Becky Lynch in a Steel Cage Match.
